Baby's First Halloween Ideas
Halloween can be one of the most creative and fun celebrations of the year, meaning the perfect opportunity to get crafty for baby’s first Halloween! If your little one is too small for trick or treating, we’ve put together five ideas to get into the spooky spirit with the pumpkin…
1) Take pictures of baby inside a
pumpkin
If baby is still small enough, you can hollow out a pumpkin and get them to sit inside for some of the sweetest pictures. You can also paint some wording on the front of the pumpkin and use the images for Happy Halloween cards if you’re feeling extra crafty.
2) Visit a pumpkin patch
Exploring the vegetable patch with your little one can be a fun place for baby discover the outside world, and it’s also a great place to meet other parents. When baby is little, the pumpkins will seem huge to them, so it’s the perfect place to play hide and seek with the family.
3) Hands and feet pumpkin
Carving a pumpkin with your baby isn’t an activity that is particularly child-friendly, and it’s also tiring work! Instead of using up valuable energy, why not trace your little one’s hands and feet onto the pumpkin and then paint them? Alternatively, you can give your baby the paintbrush and let them design the scariest vegetable face ever.
4) Time to start weaning
If your little one is nearing the age of weaning, you can take full advantage of the abundance of pumpkins and find some delicious weaning recipes. When cooked, pumpkin is soft and delicious, which makes it the ideal food for introducing baby to food with home-made recipes such as pumpkin soup or puree.
