7 Halloween Movies To Watch as a Family

If you are spending Halloween at home, watching a child-friendly spooky animation or movie with your little ones can be an amazing idea. To make sure that it’s suitable for your kids and won’t be too scary, we have carefully selected classics that are well-suited.

 

  • The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Jack Skellington, who is living in Halloween Town, gets inspiration from Christmas Town and decides to bring some Christmas spirit to his home. We are sure that your little one will love Tim Burton’s fun musical narration and animations. We couldn’t stop singing the soundtrack afterwards! Some of the characters might be a little scary for very small children, but should be suitable for older children

 

  • The Harry Potter Series 

Maybe this Halloween could be the perfect time to introduce your little one to the British classic, Harry Potter. Although the 4th to 8th films received a PG-13 rating, other episodes would be suitable for your small kids as well.

 

  • Monsters, Inc. (2001)

A Halloween movie without monsters wouldn’t be worth it for sure! Especially one which is about monsters who are in business of scaring kids. Don’t worry it’s completely the opposite of being a scary movie, the main monsters end up looking after an adorable little one before returning her home safely.

 

  • Hotel Transylvania (2012)

This fun and kid-friendly animation about Dracula is perfect for watching as a whole family. Count Dracula, which was voiced by Adam Sandler, and his relationship and conversations with his daughter, voiced by Selena Gomez, is just hilarious. There’s no doubt that you will be able to relate to many things in your life as a parent.

 

  • It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)

Which little one wouldn’t like Charlie Brown and his best friend, Snoopy? This Halloween themed movie from the series will give you and your family all the Halloween traditions, more than you ask for with costumes, trick-or-treats and pumpkins. It is suitable for every child of every age.

 

  • Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)

It’s was a classic from our childhood, now it’s your little one’s turn to get excited for the adventures of English inventor Wallace and his company Gromit. In this latest episode, the partners in crime try to deactivate a giant rabbit that terrorises the townsfolk.

 

  • Scared Shrekless (2010)

Who doesn’t like Shrek? In this 21-minute short Halloween version,  Shrek, Donkey, Puss in Boots, the Three Little Pigs, the Big Bad Wolf, Gingy, and Pinocchio tell us different scary stories and whoever can tell the scariest story will be crowned King of Halloween. Each of their stories are so fun and spooky.
