A dreamy photo journal by the talented lifestyle and fashion blogger Sally Fazeli.
I'm not the most organised person in the world and have always been pretty chilled with the whole 'routine' area. I like just playing things by ear and responding when I see signs in Hugo. In saying this I think it was when Hugo was about four and a half months that he started getting super tired between 7-8.30pm and so this soon became his bed time. The biggest sign of knowing that he was getting ready to sleep would be the obvious rubbing of the eyes, almost immediately when he started doing this I would start with what has now become his 'bed time routine'.
This literally consisted of a bath, a bottle and then bed. The simplest of routines. Although it's simple, some nights everything goes to plan and he falls asleep whilst having his bottle and we then gently transfer him to his cot with no fuss or tears... however other nights, yes, other nights need I say more?! Other nights he's like a little agitated monkey and can't keep still and will only fall asleep on me if I nurse him myself or I'm there cuddling him asleep. I don't mind too much though as I secretly still enjoy nursing him as I feel so connected to him but he's getting so big now that in my head I feel like he's too big but in my heart he's still my little baby. There have been soooo many times I've gently placed him in his cot, stroked his head and quietly snook out the room avoiding those creaky floor boards under the carpet only to find seconds later I have a wailing baby stood up in his cot with the most unhappy face on him as he pines for me to lift him out again for more snuggles. I've found that this is mostly times where he's unwell, teething or turned to that dreaded overtired stage and if it gets to this point I know I've got myself in for a whole night of snuggling this one until I know he's definitely in deep deep slumberland! Or sometimes I do the questionable thing and leave him to cry himself asleep, this normally only takes around 10 minutes though so it's not long that he or I have to suffer, there is literally no other way and if I do that it's with his best interest at heart because as his mother I know that he just needs to fall asleep and all will be ok! It's all swings and roundabouts isn't it!
hooded MORI towel. Cleaning his little toothy pegs is still a challenge every night but it helps when we sing 'This is how we brush our teeth, brush our teeth, brush our teeth' and so on but sometimes it still results in me having to squeeze his cheeks a little so I can quickly sneak in the toothbrush. Any tips in this area would be greatly appreciated thanks! I don't know about you as well but although we have a collection of different sleepsuits there's always a few personal faves which are our 'go-to' baby grows due mostly to the fit and comfort on Hugo. These are a few of my personal reasons as to why as a family we fully support the new and up and coming brand MORI.
-We use the footless baby grows which are great for Hugo's stability when he's pulling himself up on his feet all the time so he has more grip on the sole of his foot. This probably doesn't sound like such a big deal but soooo many sleepsuits have the foot bits attached so it's refreshing to find these.
-They use a bamboo cotton mix fabric which has been great especially during these hot summer months as it's meant that Hugo has still felt snuggily warm but hasn't overheated. This is because bamboo helps to regulate body temperature either to help keep your babe warm or cooler in our changing seasons. This teamed up with the Mamascarf Babasac has been great in this warmer weather, as the babasac has two panels inside that you can easily zip on or off to create a 2-in-1 multi tog baby sleeping bag, I didn't realise at the time but this has been such a saving grace to have as it also prevents Hugo from wriggling around too much in his cot which equals a better quality nights sleep for him and as a result me... a win win situation! Check out their other gorgeous designs here.
-The simplicity of the styling is perfect for bed time as they're super comfy and cozy but still well-fitted and simple in their design.
-The stretchy material means that your babe can get more wear out of it which is great value for money.
-Delivered to your door without any fuss and in the most beautiful packaging click here to see for yourself.
-After multiple washes they still feel the same softness and shape as the first time they came through the door.
-They're neutral colours which means I can keep them for my next babe whether it's a girl or a boy (not just yet but in the future ;)).
This brand is only a baby really and I was lucky enough to be invited to their launch event in London back in March earlier this year. I was introduced as 'Sally Fazeli who's a lifestyle mummy blogger', it still feels so strange when I hear people saying this as I always think that there are soooo many other better mummy bloggers out there but hey, I'm so grateful to you guys who have taken an interest into my journey through motherhood - I appreciate all your love and support ALWAYS...big mwah! It's because of you guys I keep doing what I'm doing at the end of the day! But back onto MORI, like babies, I have no doubt that this brand is going to grow and develop in every possible dimension. To read more on this lovely brand please visit their website here and see for yourself what they're about.
Lots of love
Sally & 10 month Hugo
